Deep Talks: "Water" we learning?

Our Education and Outreach team takes you inside the virtual STEM classroom
January 14, 2021
6:00pm - 7:00pm

Event Description:

Earlier this year, Sanford Lab’s Education and Outreach team began curiously toying with the quirks of remote learning. After months of trial and error (think: the pitfalls of the mute button and the dread of unstable WiFi), they’ve become screen-sharing champions and masters of the Zoom breakout room.

Now, this team of educators wants you to “hop on the call.”

At “Deep Talks: Water we learning?” you’ll jump into a virtual classroom, complete with a 3D field trip to Sanford Lab. The topic is water. We’ll discuss environmental stewardship and how everything and everyone is an interconnected part of a watershed.

And if you pay close attention, you’ll see how our educators use virtual tools to make STEM education engaging, locally relevant and culturally connected. Who knows? You might even pick up some tricks you can use during your next socially distanced board meeting, game night or happy hour!
